The Mad Hatter said...: @ David... It's an origin story, so that might very well help pave the way. I've really enjoyed what DC and Geoff Johns have been doing with the character and his story arc over the last five years, so maybe check out novels like "Rebirth", "Secret Origin" or "Blackest Night"; November 17, 2010 8:53 AM
Alex said...: I've never read any Green Lantern comics but I remember liking him in the Justice League cartoon so basically I am looking forward to this movie mostly because I love superheroes and Ryan Reynolds, and am always grateful for a big-budget superhero movie that won't have me constantly thinking about the comics in the back of my head. It looks like they're sort of going the Iron Man route, what with the loud music and the snark. That's ok. The CGI suit thing is still really stupid and gimmicky though.; November 17, 2010 12:21 PM

1 - I get the impression that it isn't finished. We're seven months from the release date and I gotta believe there will be a lot of rendering taking place in that time.

2 - It actually makes sense that it's CGI. in the comics, the suite emminates from the ring - as opposed to him pulling a Superman-quick-change. So making him look unnatural actually goes with the lore.

Sure CG is a little goofy (you're right Hatter, we're 7 months away and that buys a lot of time in the render farm and this is just the teaser) but it looks good so far. I wish all the suits weren't CG but I'm soooo looking forward to this:); November 18, 2010 12:51 PM

@ Marc... I've become a big Lantern fan over the last few years (I wear my tee shirt proudly) so this is a big'un for me.
