I'm in the midst of a pretty long stretch of some pretty long posts...but every car inn the race has to pit. So maybe it's about time for a trailer.
Back in episode twenty of The Matineecast - and episode a lot of you listened to it would seem - we talked about five fall films that we're most looking forward to. And even though I've already seen two of my five, if this teaser for The Coen Brothers' remake of TRUE GRIT tells me anything, it's that the very best might still be to come!

I can't say I'm a huge fan of westerns, but with the Coens attached, this heavy cast, and a pretty gripping trailer, I may just HAVE to see this one of the big screen.
I had the same reaction to this as I did for the trailer for No Country for Old Men. I have to see this.
Yeah! I'm pretty much sold! Can't wait for this one!
@ Heather... The visuals in this one look pretty epic, so I'd say that a big screen watchin' is gonna be worth the cash!
@ Fitz... I was a little more impressed by NO COUNTRY, but mostly because Javier seemed so badass.
@ Sebastian... Is it December yet?
I like Westerns well enough, but I don't get the greatest of vibes from this. But, even though I hated the ending to No Country and didn't really like Serious Man, Coens + Bridges + Damon = Fletch seeing this. (Brolin doesn't hurt, but he's not enough to get me in the theater.)
I was really blown away by the trailer too. Everything about it was impressive, even the soundtrack. It seems like it's almost going to have a "Carnivale" (HBO) feel to it. Can't wait to see more!
@ Fletch... I know a lot of people didn't like the ending of No Country, so you sure aren't alone. Ditto Serious Man which might have been their biggest inside joke ever.
Lookin' forward to discussing/arguing this one with ya in December!
@ Sundry... (Welcome to The Matinee!) Doesn't it have a gorgeous look to it? I'm debating whether I should rent the original - which I've never seen - between now and December or just wait it out.
