So here we are, one week away from TIFF 2010. To quote Homer Simpson "I feel like a kid in some kind of store".
I also feel in a slight state of flux, because while I'm not completely in TIFF mode just yet (though I do pick up my 18 movie tickets this afternoon), I'm pretty darned close to declaring The Dark of the Matinee "FIFF-centric". Before I do though, I thought I'd take a moment and participate in the fun.
See, I've enjoyed reading the posts many of my fellow bloggers have been doing surrounding the 31 Day Movie Meme. I've very much wanted to participate, but knew I just had too many posts mapped out to go off-book for a whole month.
Looking down the list of questions, I actually realize that many of these answers will hinge to other posts on this blog, so expect some links later. For now though, if you'll permit me giving it the little pink spoon version, here's my answers for the 31 Day Movie Meme all in one glorious dose...

I've been meaning to do this for a while. I'll probably just gear up and throw it out this Saturday since I've been avoiding it too long.
I have to be honest, surprised Step Up 3D didn't usurp The Box for movie you Loathe. But nice blend of oldies and newbies. Though looking through this I'd probably end up repeating myself a lot... especially in movie that makes me cry & saddest character death.
Can't wait till TIFF, hope you get all the films you want!
Read this and IMMEDIATELY starting writing up mine. This is awesome.
In complete agreement on New Slang and the heist scene in Heat. I should have been reading your blog for years.
As for movies I plan on watching my significant other is waiting for a day it rains here in Reno until we watch Singin' in the Rain. She insists it will be better this way.
You've convinced me to do this in the same method as you. I've been meaning to see High Noon forever as well.
@ Univarn... The loathe question was a tricky one, because I don't tend to see movies right down to full loathing (time is precious - if it looks like I'm gonna loathe it, I skip it).
STEP UP, while amazingly stupid, never wanted to try and be anything else. I gave it the zero just because it was a colassal waste of my time.
THE BOX on the other hand suffers from delusions of grandeur. So the fact that it's self-important while its wasting my time makes me despise it a little bit more.
@ Aiden... looking forward to your answers. Don't forget to look around the blogosphere at spaces like R2D2 and Insight Into Entertainment who did full posts on these 31 questions.
@ Fitz... Your "reading for years" comment has made my week - thanks for that. Watching RAIN on a stormy day would in fact be amusing, but believe it or not, very little of it involves the rain.
@ Blake... I have a blind spot for a lot of classic westerns.
Same as you, I have been wanting to participate in this meme but obviously had too much on our hands. I might just do as you did with a quick and condensed version sometime soon ;)
Totally agree with Funny People being terribly disappointing and the heist scene near the end of Heat being the best action scene ever.
Definitely would agree with you on WALL-E, and I would have to put that on my list of movies that make me cry everytime too.
Oh awesome, glad you're doing this too, Hatter.
High five on Favorite Black & White Film, IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE and Best Musical, MOULIN ROUGE!
I love that line from the Joker too, he's definitely got great one-liners and Heath did it so well.
That bank heist in Heat was phenomenal, LOVE that movie.
I have Say, Anything as part of a 3-disc set thingy I got at Target, but I have yet to watch it. I'm gonna have to now as they're your favorites!
@ Castor... I believe what I said at the time is that with a title like FUNNY PEOPLE you're almost daring people not to laugh.
Lookin' forward to seeing your answers.
@ olive... WALL-E doesn't make me cry, but it does make me smile every single time. TOY STORY 3 on the other hand...that got me misty!
@ Ruth... Good gravy woman! Stop reading this right now and put on SAY ANYTHING!! I expect a full post on how it changed your life before I get distracted with TIFF-y goodness.
Funny People seemed like a poor title choice. And, believe it or not, there was a person in the lobby who said "we'll just see about that!" regarding the title.
